After getting permission from land owners, trail marking begins.
Instead of opening and closing trails by county, for a one-year trial period, the Columbia County Association of Snowmobile Clubs (CCASC) will allow each club to determine if the conditions are right to open and close their individual club’s trails. This will allow the parts of Columbia County that receive more snow to open trails in that area. Additionally, the DNR Holiday Deer Hunt only affects certain clubs’ sections of trail, meaning these trails are subject to closure during this period. Be on the lookout for “TRAIL CLOSED BARRICADES” and “PLEASE TURN AROUND IF THE TRAIL IS CLOSED” signs. If snowmobilers DO NOT obey “TRAIL CLOSED” signs, ride in areas with low snow or on land that is closed for hunting, we could lose that section of trail for good. PLEASE be aware of this change for the 2023-24 season. If we ALL respect our landowners and follow the rules, this trial change should ensure more riding in Columbia County this season. Know before you go – call Columbia County Hotline. (608) 227-7433

The Arlington Prairie Drifters Snowmobile Club is here to advance the general welfare and safety of snowmobiling, to serve the interests of snowmobilers and our landowners, to exchange snowmobiling information, and to conduct the successful operation of the Club in the public interest. We work cooperatively with local landowners in the Arlington and Poynette areas to establish and maintain snowmobile trails. If you have ideas about how we could do that better, become a Member of our Club! THANK YOU, LANDOWNERS!!

We are always looking for volunteers to help us with a variety of year-round events. Installing and removing trails, trail marker and groomer maintenance, coordinate landowner appreciation, club rides, fundraisers, Fall Fling, summer party, and help with Adopt-A-Highway. We appreciate and encourage Members to become active in monthly meetings or taking on an Officer or Board Member role.
Thank You
